Supra sat nav holder

If like me you dont smoke and if like me you cant stand sat nav holders and other things stuck to the inside of the windscreen that fall off even when eastenders dog method is used (wellhard) then this is the mod for you!

Remove ash tray and cut the thin metal rod that the metal flap hinges on with side cutters to remove it, then drill hole big enough for the power cable connector to fit through at the front corner of the ashtray and wallah! you in car tomtom sat nav holder is done!









AND no holes drilled into the dash and the bit you have drilled a hole in is so easily replaced.

Yes Yes i know someone gonna say you have to move it forward to adjust the heater temp but so what, and who really adjusts it that much once you on the road anyway!

That's good mate but I use my ashtray, so I might have a bit of a mess on me hands.

I do have an old PDA with tomtom 7 on it, which has a side fed connection on it come to think of it. That should fit in there perfectly.

How stable is it with a bit of right foot extending? does it not tilt backwards?

I like the tomtom satnavs.

Its just the windscreen sucky thing that are crap but thats fine cos i HATE things stuck on my windscreen anyway!

Nice idea Mark, but I already have the mod for the turbo timer in the ashtray.
I'm also impressed with my Navman sucker it's been very reliable, I tuck it as far down the windscreen as I can, because like you I don't like stuff stuck all over the screen.

Why is it that everyone else manages to make them work? I've used TomTom and Garmin ones and they work just fine, just give the windscreen a little wipe when you take them off

I had a sat nav low down for a bit, you need to take your eyes off the road to look at it if you need to, surely that's the whole point in having it up there in the first place.

Why don't you get one of those rounds things that sits on the dash and holds the sat nav instead?

Well i did drill a hole too! lol
